1. All students residing on the College campus shall abide by the Hostel Rules and Directives.
2. Maintenance of Hostel:
(1) Rooms:
(a) The College provides suitable hostel accommodation for its students. Each student is provided with a bed, a table, a chair, a bookshelf and a wardrobe.
(b) Students have to bring their own mattresses, quilts, mosquito nets, flashlight, glass tumblers or cups, teaspoons, water jugs, buckets, mugs and light tools for social work.
3. The Common Room:
(a) The Common Room is meant to be a fellowship cum recreation room.
(b) The Common Room is equipped with newspapers and television, which shall be used responsibly.
4. The Campus and College Property:
(1) Students are expected to be stewards of the College campus.They can use College properties responsibly and keep it clean and in good condition.
(2) Generator facilities shall be made available for Chapel services, the Library, hostels and any other College programmes during power outages.
5. The Dining Hall:
(1) The Mess:
(a) All students shall participate in mess management on a rotational basis. The SB Committee appoint one Mess Manager and the mess team for each month while the
College is in session.
(2) Guidelines for Dining:
(a) Tea and meal time: Separate tea and meal times are observed during the Summer and Winter. The Summer season extends from March to October, while the Winter
season extends from November to February, as follows:
Morning Tea
Summer : 5:30 a.m.
Winter : 6:00 a.m.
Morning Meal
Summer & Winter : 8:00 a.m.
Noon Tea
Summer & Winter : 12:15-12:55 p.m.
Afternoon Tea
Summer & Winter : 3:30 p.m.
Evening Meal
Summer : 5:30 p.m.
Winter : 5:00 p.m.
6. Time for Private Devotion & Worship:
(1) All the students are expected to follow the timings given below:
Rising Bell : 5:30 a.m (Summer)
6:00 a.m (Winter)
Private Devotion : 5:45 - 6:15 a.m. (Summer)
6:15 - 6:45 a.m. (Winter)
Morning Corporate Worship : 9:00 - 9:20 a.m
SB/SCM Evening Worship : 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. (Summer)
6:00 - 6:30 p.m. (Winter)
(2) Since worship is an indispensable element of theological training students are required to spend time in private devotions and regularly attend worship services in the College or elsewhere as directed by the College authorities. Students who are unable to do so have to obtain prior permission from the concerned College authorities.
(3) SCMI services are held on Tuesday evenings and the SB
services are held on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
(4) Students are expected to attend Sunday Evening
Community Worship Service.
7. Study Time:
(1) The following are the minimum hours for study prescribed by the College from Mondays to Fridays:
Morning : Summer 6:15 - 7:45 a.m.
: Winter : 6:45 - 7:45 a.m.
Evening : Summer 7:30 - 11:00 p.m.
Winter 7:00 - 10:30 p.m.
(2) Evening study hours shall also be observed on Saturdays.
(3) Students are expected to remain in their respective rooms during study hours. The use of the Library for study during these hours may be permitted.
(4) Students have to maintain silence during study hours. The lifestyle and conduct must not in any way cause inconvenience or disturbance to fellow hostellers.
(5) Students can use headphones whenever necessary and shall avoid disturbing others during study hours.
(6) Students conducting Fellowship/Tutorial Group meetings during study hours have to inform the Hostel Superintendent in advance.
(7) As far as possible, committee meetings, choir practices, etc., shall not be held during study hours. Where it is absolutely necessary to hold such meetings, prior permission shall be obtained from the Hostel Superintendent.
(8) Students leaving the campus for Saturday outings are expected to return to campus by:
Summer : 6:30 pm
Winter : 6:00 pm.
8. Sports and Recreation Time:
(1) Students are expected to observe the following timings for leisure and for playing outdoor and indoor games from Monday to Friday:-
3:15 p.m. - 5:10 p.m. (Summer)
3:15 p.m. - 4:40 p.m. (Winter)
(2) Students may listen to the radio or view television in the Common Room during the time allotted for leisure and recreation.
(3) On Saturdays, students may use the radio/TV during the day until the commencement of evening study hours.
(4) Musical instruments can be played in the hostel during recreation time.
9. Visitors’ Inn:
Visitors are to be entertained only in the Visitors’ Inn.
10. Guests:
(1) Student guests may be accommodated in the ICC guest room.
(2) They shall pay the prescribed ICC guest room charges.
(3) They may join the hostel mess by paying ` 150 per day, which includes morning meal, lunch, and evening meal.
